MEDIA NOT INVITED TO STAKEHOLDERS SUMMIT
– WHY?
A STAKEHOLDERS’ meeting to consider the provision of
children’s emergency care in Southport will be held on Friday, December 21st
2007
Sefton PCT and Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust will be amongst stakeholders at
this meeting, which will be held at the Health and Well-Being Centre in
Sandbrook Road, Ainsdale between 10 am – 12 noon.
With regard to press interest, Mr Leigh Griffin of the PCT told us that
he is
“clear that this is an informal discussion, not a public meeting or a meeting in
public”.
Mr Griffin went on to state that he would
“like, at the meeting, to see if we can
agree a common message for wider transmission,”
He added:
“I have no
intention of inviting the media to the meeting.”
In light of the highly- supposed significance of this event with regards to our
lost hospital services CARES find this hard to comprehend.
Why would the PCT not wish for the media to attend this imperative meeting?
CARES members will be in attendance.
