A meeting was held today at the Ainsdale Health and Wellbeing Centre at 2pm. It was chaired by Paul Acres Chairman of the PCT. Leigh Griffin Chief Executive was also present.
It seems an option is presently being pursued whereby a walk-in centre for children will be proposed. The PCT are looking into the safety and how it will impact on other services but it does now seem to be on the cards.
Two models are being looked into. The first being situated in the town centre, the other being situated at the hospital site at Town Lane.
CARES stress this is 'not' an A&E but a walk in centre for minor injuries. However, we are positive that it is a big step in the right direction for our children.
If we continue to push forward that it has an X-ray facility then it will save a lot of unnecessary trips to Ormskirk and Alder Hey hospitals.
