A STAKEHOLDERS’ meeting to consider the provision of children’s emergency care in Southport was held on Friday, December 21st 2007

Sefton PCT and Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust were amongst stakeholders at this meeting, which took place at the Health and Well-Being Centre in Sandbrook Road, Ainsdale between 10 am – 12 noon. Media were not permitted to attend.

CARES will continue to campaign for full reinstatement of our lost services

 

Amongst those attending the meeting was Cllr Brenda Porter, who as a long-time campaigner for a children's and young peoples' unit to be provided in Southport found the meeting to be positive.

Having raised the inequalities between the South of the Borough, Central Lancashire and North of the Borough for a long time Cllr. Porter is delighted that a more positive approach to providing such a unit has now been agreed and is hopeful that a further meeting scheduled for 6-8 weeks will conform this.

 

The local media have now been informed about this issue by CARES.

Co-chair Cath Regan has also been interviewed by Dune FM Radio regarding this vital issue.
